Dear Hyejung,

It was lovely to hear the news from you. It is good to hear about your new church and know how happy you must be to worship in a beautiful new space.
I took my granddaughter, Sanza, to the children's service on Christmas Eve. She got to sit right up on the altar as one of the visitors who came to hear the story of the Christ child's birth. It was thrilling for her. Then later that night, Bang, my sister and I all went to the candlelight service of lessons and carols. It was beautiful.

I hope you got our Christmas card. This has been a very difficult year for me. In March I became very ill with a rare illness that paralyzes the body from the feet up. It's called Guillain-Barre Syndrome and strikes about one in 100,000. I am still in the process of healing from that. I would welcome any prayers that you might be able to offer for continued healing.

I still remember back to your visit. It was right before I was to become the Coordinator of Parish Caring Ministries (12 years ago!) You and your church prayed for our success and I recall being stunned by the many early achievements of our ministries. Parish Caring has thrived over the years. But, because of my illness, I had to retire. Perhaps you could pray that we are able to find a successor who will carry on the work that we started. I would be heartbroken to see these important ministries fall away.

Bang is very well, however, and we wish you, Alex and Pastor Lee the very best in the New Year.
Love and Peace to you all,
Sue (and of course, Bang)
