Almighty and most Merciful God, help us to become masters of ourselves in order that one day we might become servants of others. Amen.
ÀüÁö Àü´ÉÇϽðí ÀÚºñ·Î¿î Çϳª´Ô¾Æ¹öÁö ¿ì¸®°¡ ´Ù¸¥ »ç¶÷µéÀÇ Á¾ÀÌ µÉ ¼ö ÀÖµµ·Ï ´ç½Å²²¼­ ¿ì¸®ÀÇ ÁÖÀÎÀÌ µÇ½Ã±â¸¦ ±â¿øÇϿɳªÀÌ´Ù.

MY DEAR KOREAN friends, grace and peace to you in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ!
³ªÀÇ »ç¶ûÇÏ´Â Çѱ¹ Ä£±¸ÀÌÀÚ, Á־ȿ¡¼­ °¡Á·À̽Š¿©·¯ºÐ, ¿¹¼ö´ÔÀÇ À̸§À¸·Î ÀºÇý¿Í Æò°­ÀÌ ³ÑÄ¡±â¸¦ ±â¿øÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
I bring you greetings this morning on behalf of your partner church, The First Church in Windsor, Connecticut, USA.
³ª´Â ¹Ì±¹ ÄÚ³×Æ¼Ä¿Æ®ÁÖ¿¡ ÀÖÀ¸¸ç, »ê¿î±³È¸¿Í ÇüÁ¦±³È¸ÀÎ Á¦ÀÏ À©Àú±³È¸ ÀÇ ´ãÀÓ¸ñ»ç·Î¼­ ¿À´Ã ÀÌ ½Ã°£ ¿©·¯ºÐ¿¡°Ô ¹®¾ÈÀ» ¿Ã¸³´Ï´Ù.
Please understand that the greetings I bring are not merely pro forma; on the contrary, they are heartfelt and sincere.

We mention your congregation in our prayers each Sunday and today the entire First Church community rejoices with you as you dedicate this beautiful, church building.
¿ì¸® ±³È¸ ±³ÀεéÀº ¸ÅÁÖ »ê¿î±³È¸¿¡ ´ëÇØ¼­ ±âµµÇؿԽÀ´Ï´Ù. ±×¸®°í ¿À´Ã Á¦ÀÏ À©Àú±³È¸ ¸ðµç ±³¿ìµéÀº ÀÌ·¸°Ô ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿î ±³È¸ °Ç¹°À» ºÀÇåÇÏ´Â ¿©·¯ºÐ µé°ú ´õºÒ¾î °°ÀÌ ±â»µÇϰí ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.

Looking around at your beautiful new church reminds me about a pastor I once knew who had a bad habit of telling stories that were not always true.
¿©·¯ºÐµéÀÇ ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿î ÀÌ ¸ÚÁø ±³È¸¸¦ µÑ·¯º¸´Ï, ÇѶ§ ³»°¡ ¾Ë°í Áö³»´ø ¸ñ»ç´ÔÀÌ ¶°¿À¸¨´Ï´Ù. ±×´Â Ç×»ó Áø½ÇÀÌ ¾Æ´Ñ À̾߱⸦ ¸»ÇÏ´Â ³ª»Û ½À°üÀ» °¡Áö°í ÀÖ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù.
Although he was a faithful servant of the Lord, he would sometimes become too excited in the pulpit, and in his excitement he would start to stretch the truth.
ºñ·Ï ±×´Â Çϳª´ÔÀÇ Ãæ½ÇÇÑ Á¾À̾úÁö¸¸, ¶§¶§·Î ¼³±³ÇÒ ¶§ ³Ê¹« ÈïºÐ Çϰï Çß½À´Ï´Ù. ±×¸®°í ÈïºÐÇÒ ¶§¸¶´Ù Áø½ÇÀ» °úÀåÇϰï Çß½À´Ï´Ù.
In order to help himself overcome this tendency he asked the senior deacon to sit in the back pew and instructed him to wave his arms if he began to get too carried away.
±×´Â ½º½º·Î ÀÌ·¸°Ô Áø½ÇÀ» ¿Ö°îÇÏ´Â ½À¼ºÀ» °íÄ¡±â À§Çؼ­, ±×´Â ³ªÀÌ µå½Å Áý»ç´Ô¿¡°Ô ºÎŹÀ» Çß½À´Ï´Ù. ¡° ÀÇÀÚ µÞ Á¼®¿¡ ¾É¾Æ °è¼Ì´Ù°¡, Á¦°¡ ¼³±³ Áß ³Ê¹« °úÀåµÈ ¸»À» ÇÒ ¶§¸¶´Ù ÆÈÀ» Èçµé¾î´Þ¶ó.¡±´Â °ÍÀÌ ¾ú½À´Ï´Ù.
The following Sunday when the preacher began his sermon everything started off fine.
´ÙÀ½ ÁÖÀϳ¯ ±× ¸ñ»ç´ÔÀº ¼³±³¸¦ Àß ½ÃÀÛÇϼ̰í, ÁøÇ൵ Àß ÇÏ°í °Ô¼Ì½À´Ï´Ù.
But then toward the middle of the sermon the minister said to the congregation, ¡°By the way, did I ever tell you about the time I preached in a church that was three kilometers long?¡±
±×·¯³ª ¸ñ»ç´ÔÀº ¼³±³ Áß°£Âë¿¡ ¼ºµµµé¿¡°Ô ÀÌ·¸°Ô ¸»¾¸Çϼ̴ø °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù. ¡°±×·±µ¥, ±æÀ̰¡ 3ų·Î¹ÌÅͳª ±æ°Ô »¸Àº ¾î¶² ±³È¸¿¡¼­ ¼³±³Çß´ø ÀûÀÌ ÀÖ´Ù°í ÇßÁö¿ä?¡±
Immediately, the senior deacon jumped to his feet and began to wave his arms wildly.
±×¶§, Áï½Ã, ³ªÀ̵ç Áý»ç´Ô²²¼­ ¹ú¶± ÀϾ¼Ì°í, ¸¶±¸ ¼ÕÀ» Èçµé¾î´ò½À´Ï´Ù.
¡°And five centimeters wide!¡± the pastor quickly added.

This wonderful new building is neither too long, nor too wide. It is perfect in every way and I am indeed honored and humbled to be able to share in this service of worship with you.
¿ì¸®ÀÇ ÀÌ ¾Æ¸§´Ù¿î ±³È¸´Â ³Ê¹« ±æÁöµµ, ³Ê¹« ³ÐÁöµµ ¾Ê½À´Ï´Ù. ÀÌ ±³È¸´Â ¸ðµç ¸é¿¡ À־ ¿©·¯ºÐµé¿¡°Ô´Â °¡Àå ¾Ë¸ÂÀº ±³È¸ÀÔ´Ï´Ù. »Ó¸¸ ¾Æ´Ï¶ó, ³ª´Â ¿©·¯ºÐµé°ú ÇÔ²²ÇÏ´Â ÀÌ ¿¹¹è°¡ °¡Àå ¿µ±¤½º·´°í Á¦ ¸¶À½µµ °âÇãÇØ Áö´Â °ÍÀ» ´À³§´Ï´Ù.

I know this building represents many years of praying and planning, but today all your hard work has paid off.
ÀÌ ±³È¸¸¦ °ÇÃàÇϱâ À§ÇØ ¿©·¯ºÐµé²²¼­´Â ¿©·¯ ÇØ µ¿¾È ±âµµÇϸç, ¼³°ÔÇϰí, °èÈ¹ÇØ ¿Ô´ø ±³È¸¶ó´Â °ÍÀ» ³ª´Â Àß ¾Ë°í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. ±×·¯³ª ¿À´Ã ÀÌ ±³È¸´Â ¿©·¯ºÐ µéÀÇ ¾öû³­ ³ë·ÂÀÇ ´ë°¡¸¦ ÁöºÒÇÑ ¹Ù·Î ±× ±³È¸ÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
None of this would have been possible of course, without your deep faith in God, your generous stewardship, and the outstanding leadership of my esteemed colleague and good friend, Pastor Lee.

The dedication and generosity of your congregation are a source of inspiration to me and to every member of my congregation.
»ê¿î±³È¸ ¼ºµµ´Ôµé²²¼­ º¸¿©ÁֽŠÀÌ·± Çå½Å°ú ÀÚºñ´Â Àú »Ó¸¸ ¾Æ´Ï¶ó, ¿ì¸® À©Àú±³È¸ÀÇ ¸ðµç ¼ºµµµé¿¡°Ôµµ Å« ¼º·ÉÀÇ °¨µ¿ÀÌ µÇ°íÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.
Our scripture lesson for this morning from Hebrews, however, reminds us that the real builder of this house is God, for according to chapter three, verse four, God is ¡°the builder of all things.¡±
¿À´Ã¾ÆÄ§ È÷ºê¸®¼­ ±âÀÚ°¡ ÁÖ´Â ¸»¾¸Àº ¡°ÀÌ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ÁýÀ» ÁöÀ¸½Å ÀÌ´Â Çϳª´Ô À̽öó´Â °ÍÀ» ¿ì¸®µé¿¡°Ô ±â¾ï½Ã۰í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù. ¿Ö³ÄÇϸé 3Àå 4Àý ¸»¾¸¿¡ ÀÇÇϸé, ¸ðµç °ÍÀ» ÁöÀ¸½Å ÀÌ´Â Çϳª´ÔÀ̽öó°í ¸»¾¸ÇÏ°í °è½Ê´Ï´Ù.
In other words, my dear friends, God is the master builder and we are merely the custodians, the caretakers so to speak, over all that God has given us.
»ç¶ûÇÏ´Â ¼ºµµ ¿©·¯ºÐ, ´Ù¸¥ ¸»·Î Çϸé, Çϳª´ÔÀº ÀÌ ÁýÀÇ ÁÖÀÎ À̽öó´Â °Ì´Ï´Ù. ±×¸®°í ¿ì¸®´Â ´Ü¼øÈ÷ ÀÌ ÁýÀÇ °ü¸®ÀÎÀ̰í, ´Ù½Ã ¸»Çؼ­, ¿ì¸®´Â Çϳª´Ô²²¼­ ¿ì¸®¿¡°Ô ÁֽŠ°ÍµéÀ» °ü¸®ÇÏ¸ç µ¹º¸´Â »ç¶÷À̶õ °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.

This morning, as we gather together to celebrate the completion of your new building, let us pause for a moment to ask ourselves, what it means to call this place the house of God.
¿À´Ã¾ÆÄ§, ¿ì¸®µéÀº Çϳª´ÔÀÇ »õ ¼ºÀü À» ¿Ï¼ºÇÏ°í ¿¹¹è µå¸®±â À§Çؼ­ ÀÌ ÀÚ¸®¿¡ ¸ð¿´½À´Ï´Ù. Àá½Ã¸¸ »ý°¢ÇØ º¾½Ã´Ù. Çѹø ¿ì¸® ½º½º·Î¿¡°Ô ¹°¾îº¾½Ã´Ù. À̰÷À» Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¼ºÀüÀ¸·Î ºÎ¸£´Â Àǹ̰¡ ¹«¾ùÀԴϱî?
What kind of building must this be in order to be used for purposes that will be pleasing to God and consistent with the ministry and mission of the Sanwoon church?
ÀÌ °÷Àº °ú¿¬ Çϳª´ÔÀ» ±â»Ú½Ã°Ô Çϰí Çϳª´Ô²²¼­ ¹Ù¶ó´Â ¼Ò¸í°ú ¼±±³¿¡ ÇÕ´çÇÑ °÷À¸·Î »ç¿ëµÇ±â À§Çؼ­ ¼¼¿öÁø °Ç¹°ÀԴϱî?
Let us begin by reminding ourselves that first of all, in order to be a true house of God, this building must always be a house of WORSHIP.
Çϳª´ÔÀÇ Áø½ÇµÈ ¼ºÀüÀÌ µÇ±â À§Çؼ­, ¿ì¸® Àڽſ¡°Ô ¹«¾ùº¸´Ùµµ À̰÷Àº ¿¹¹è µå¸®¸ç °æ¹èÇÏ´Â °÷À̶ó´Â °ÍÀ» ±â¾ïÇϸ鼭 ½ÃÀÛÇÏ¼Å¾ß µË´Ï´Ù.
To step into this building is to step into sacred space.
ÀÌ ¼ºÀü¿¡ µé¾î¿À´Â °ÍÀº ½Å¼ºÇÑ °÷¿¡ µé¾î¿À´Â °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
There are many reasons for coming to church but the primary reason is to praise God¡¯s holy name.
±³È¸¿¡ ¿À´Â ¸¹Àº ÀÌÀ¯°¡ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù¸¸ °¡Àå ¿ì¼±ÇÏ´Â °ÍÀÌ °Å·èÇÑ Çϳª´ÔÀ» Âù¾çÇÏ´Â °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
I am sure there are many other magnificent buildings in this city.
ÀÌ Áö¿ª(ºÐ´ç, ÆÇ±³)¿¡ ¾öû³ª°Ô Ä¿´Ù¶õ °Ç¹°µéÀÌ ¸¹ÀÌ ÀÖ´Â ÁÙ ¾Ð´Ï´Ù.
But this building was not made to serve as an office, a school, or a museum.
±×·¯³ª ÀÌ °Ç¹°Àº »ç¹«½ÇÀ̳ª, Çб³³ª, ¹Ú¹°°üó·³ »ç¿ëµÇµµ·Ï ¸¸µé¾îÁø °Ç¹°ÀÌ ¾Æ´Õ´Ï´Ù.
The primary purpose of the house of God is to worship God and to offer him our thanks and praise.
Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¼ºÀüÀ¸·Î¼­ °¡Àå ¿ì¼±ÀûÀÎ ¸ñÀûÀº Çϳª´Ô²² ¿¹¹è µå¸®°í, Çϳª´Ô²² °¨»ç µå¸®°í, °æ¹èÇÏ´Â °÷ÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
Think about it for a moment. There are many other organizations that do many of the things we do.
Àá±ñ »ý°¢ÇØ º¾½Ã´Ù. ¿ì¸®´Â ¿©·¯ Á¶Á÷¿¡ ¼ÓÇØÀÖÀ¸¸é¼­ ¸¹Àº ÀϵéÀ» Çϰí ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.
There are many other organizations that counsel people.
»ç¶÷µéÀ» »ó´ãÇØÁÖ´Â ±â°üµéµµ ¸¹ÀÌ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.
There are many other organizations that raise money.
µ·À» ¸¹ÀÌ ¹ö´Â ȸ»çµéµµ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.
There are many other organizations that do good works.
ÁÁÀº ÀÏÀ» ÇÏ´Â ´Üüµéµµ ¸¹ÀÌ ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.
But there is only one organization I know of whose primary function is to worship God and that organization is the church of Jesus Christ.
±×·¯³ª ³»°¡ ¾Æ´Â ¹Ù·Î´Â Çϳª´ÔÀ» °æ¹èÇÏ´ÂÀÏÀ» ÀüÀûÀ¸·Î ÇϱâÀ§ÇØ ÀÌ·ç¾îÁø Á¶Á÷Àº ¿ÀÁ÷ Çϳª, Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ±³È¸»ÓÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
Some years ago, the late Archbishop William Temple said, ¡°This world can be saved from political chaos and collapse by one thing only and that is worship.¡±
¸î ³â Àü¿¡ °í(ÀÛ°íÇϽÅ) Àª¸®¾ö ÅÛÇà ´ëÁÖ±³²²¼­, ¡°À̼¼»óÀº Á¤Ä¡Àû È¥¶õ°ú Ÿ¶ôÀ¸·ÎºÎÅÍ ±¸ÇÒ ¼ö ÀÖ´Â °ÍÀº ¿ÀÁ÷ ¿¹¹è¹Û¿¡ ¾ø´Ù.¡±°í ¸»¾¸Çϼ̽À´Ï´Ù.
He was right. This world cannot be saved by politics.
Àª¸®¾ö ´ëÁÖ±³ÀÇ ¸»ÀÌ ¿Ç½À´Ï´Ù. Á¤Ä¡°¡ À̼¼»óÀ» ±¸¿øÇÒ ¼ö ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù.
Neither can it be saved by business.
¾î¶² »ç¾÷À¸·Îµµ À̼¼»óÀ» ±¸¿øÇÒ ¼ö ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù.
On the contrary, it can only be saved by worship because worship is the one thing that has the power to transform us.
¹Ý´ë·Î , À̼¼»óÀ» ±¸¿øÇÏ·Á¸é ¿¹¹è·Î ÀÎÇØ¼­¸¸ ±¸¿øÀÌ °¡´ÉÇÕ´Ï´Ù. ¿ì¸®¸¦ º¯È­½Ãų ÈûÀ» °¡Áø °ÍÀº ¿ÀÁ÷ ÁøÁ¤ÇÑ ¿¹¹èÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
Through worship we are not only reminded who we are, but we are also reminded whose we are.
¿¹¹è¸¦ ÅëÇØ¼­, ¿ì¸®°¡ ´©±¸Àΰ¡¸¦ ¾Ë»Ó¸¸ ¾Æ´Ï¶ó, ¿ì¸®°¡ ´©±¸ÀÇ °Í(¼ÒÀ¯¹°)Àΰ¡¸¦ ¾Ë°Ô ÇØ ÁÝ´Ï´Ù.
Through worship we are reminded that we are children of God, that we belong to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and that we are called to be agents of God¡¯s justice and love.
¿¹¹è¸¦ ÅëÇØ¼­, ¿ì¸®°¡ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ÀÚ³à¶ó´Â °Í°ú, ¿ì¸®´Â Çϳª´Ô¿¡ ¼ÓÇÑ ÀÚ¶ó´Â °Í°ú, Çϳª´ÔÀÇ °øÀÇ¿Í »ç¶ûÀ» ÀüÇÏ´Â ÀÚ¶ó´Â °ÍÀ» ¾Ë°Ô ÇØ ÁÝ´Ï´Ù.
If this is truly a house build by God then it must always remain, first and foremost, a house of worship.
¸¸¾à À̰÷ÀÌ Çϳª´Ô¿¡ ÀÇÇØ¼­ Áö¾îÁø ¼ºÀüÀ̶ó¸é, ¹«¾ùº¸´Ùµµ ¿ì¼±ÀûÀ¸·Î ÇØ¾ß ÇÒ °ÍÀº °æ¹èÇÏ´Â ¼ºÀüÀ̶ó´Â °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.

Secondly, if this is indeed, the house of God then it must also be a house of FELLOWSHIP.
µÎ ¹øÂ°·Î´Â, À̰÷ÀÌ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¼ºÀüÀ̶ó¸é, ±³ÀçÀÇ Àå¼Ò°¡ µÇ¾î¾ß ÇÒ °Í ÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
I have always been fond of the story about the Jewish boy who asked his father why he went to synagogue despite the fact that he did not believe in God.
³ª´Â À¯ÅÂÀÎ ¼Ò³âÀÌ ±×ÀÇ ¾Æ¹öÁö²² ¹°¾ú½À´Ï´Ù.¡± ¾Æ¹öÁö´Â Çϳª´ÔÀÇ Á¸À縦 ¹ÏÁöµµ ¾ÊÀ¸¸é¼­ ¿Ö À¯ÅÂÀΠȸ´ç¿¡ ´Ù´Ï½Ê´Ï±î?¡±¶ó°í ¹¯´Â ±× À¯ÅÂÀÎ ¼Ò³â¿¡ °üÇÑ À̾߱⸦ Ç×»ó ÁÁ¾ÆÇØ ¿Ô½À´Ï´Ù.
The father said, ¡°People go to synagogue for lots of reasons. Your neighbor, Mr. Goldfarb goes to talk to God. I go to talk to Mr. Goldfarb.¡±
±× ¼Ò³âÀÇ ¾Æ¹öÁö´Â ¡° »ç¶÷µéÀº ¸¹Àº ÀÌÀ¯ ¶§¹®¿¡ ȸ´ç¿¡ °£´Ù. ¿ì¸® ÀÌ¿ô °ñµåÆÄºê¾¾µµ Çϳª´Ô°ú ´ëÈ­Çϱâ À§ÇØ °Å±â¿¡ °¡½Å´Ù. ³ª´Â °ñµå ÆÄºê¾¾¿Í ´ëÈ­ÇÏ·¯ °Å±â °¡Áö¸¸¡¦.¡±(»ç¶÷À» ¸¸³ª´Â Àå¼Ò·Î¼­ÀÇ ±³È¸¸¦ ¸»ÇϰíÀÚ ÇÔ)
One of the primary missions of the church is to provide fellowship.
±³È¸¿¡¼­ ¿ì¸®°¡ ÇØ¾ß ÇÒ Áß¿äÇÑ ÀÏÁß Çϳª°¡ ±³Àç ÇÏ´Â °Í ÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
Too many people today lead lonely, isolated lives.

People need to have a sense of purpose but they also need to have a sense of place.

They need to have a place where they feel welcomed and accepted—not because of anything they have achieved, but simply because of who they are.

A real church needs to be more than just a place of worship.
ÁøÁ¤ÇÑ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ±³È¸´Â ¿¹¹è µå¸®´Â Àå¼Ò ÀÌ»ó µÇ¾î¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
It also has to be a real community.
±³È¸´Â ´ç¿¬È÷ °øµ¿Ã¼¸¦ ÀÌ·ç¾î¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
It has to be place where everyone knows your name and where no one is made to feel like a stranger.
¸ðµç »ç¶÷ÀÌ ¿ì¸®µéÀÇ À̸§À» ¾Ë°í ¾Æ¹«µµ ³¸¼± »ç¶÷À¸·Î ´À³¢Áö ¾Ê´Â ¹Ù·Î ±×·± °÷ÀÌ µÇ¾î¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
It has to be a place where no matter what you look like, where you come from, or what language you speak, everyone is made to feel welcome.
¿ì¸®°¡ ¾î¶»°Ô º¸ÀÌµç °£¿¡ ¾îµð¼­ ¿Ô´ø °£¿¡, ¾î¶² ¾ð¾î¸¦ »ç¿ëÇÏ´ø °£¿¡, ¸ðµç »ç¶÷µéÀ» ȯ¿µÇÏ´Â ±×·± °÷ÀÌ µÇ¾î¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
Everyone is made to feel as if he or she is part of God¡¯s community.
¸ðµç »ç¶÷µéÀ» ¸¶Ä¡ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ °øµ¿Ã¼ÀÇ ÇÑ ºÎºÐ(Áöü)ÀÌ µÈ °Íó·³ ´À³¢µµ·Ï ÇØ¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
The house of God is a place where differences are acknowledged and honestly faced up to.
Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¼ºÀüÀº ¿ì¸® ¸ðµÎ´Â ¼­·Î ¼­·Î ´Ù¸£´Ù(À¯ÅÂÀÎÀûÀÎ »ý°¢)´Â °ÍÀ» ÁøÁ¤À¸·Î ÀÎÁ¤Çϰí, ¹Þ¾ÆµéÀÌ´Â °÷ À̾î¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
We do not have to fear differences in the house of God because ¡°we are all one in Christ Jesus¡± (Galatians 3:28).
¿ì¸®´Â Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¼ºÀü ¾È¿¡¼­ ¼­·Î ´Ù¸£´Ù´Â °ÍÀ» µÎ·Á¿ö ÇÏÁö ¸»¾Æ¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù. °¥¶óµð¾Æ¼­ 3Àå 28ÀýÀº ¡°¿©·¯ºÐÀº ±×¸®½ºµµ ¿¹¼ö ¾È¿¡¼­ ¸ðµÎ ÇϳªÀÔ´Ï´Ù. ¡±¶ó°í ¸»¾¸ÇϽʴϴÙ.
True fellowship is a place where all people are welcomed and made to feel as though they too, are part of God¡¯s community.
ÁøÁ¤ÇÑ ¿ìÁ¤Àº ¸ðµç »ç¶÷µéÀÌ È¯¿µ ¹Þ°í, ¶ÇÇÑ ¸¶Ä¡ ±×µéÀÌ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ °øµ¿Ã¼ÀÇ ÇÑ ºÎºÐ(Áöü)ÀÌ µÈ °Íó·³ ´À³¢°Ô ÇØ¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.

As Saint Augustine, one of the early church fathers once said, ¡°Although we may not all think alike can we not all love alike?¡±
Ãʴ뱳ȸÀÇ ÁöµµÀÚÁß ÇÑ ºÐÀ̴̼ø ¼º ¾î°Å½ºÆ¾Àº ¡°¿ì¸®°¡ »ý°¢Àº ¼­·Î ´Ù¸¦ Áö¶óµµ ¶È °°ÀÌ ¼­·Î »ç¶û ÇÏÁö ¸»¶õ ¹ýÀÌ Àִ°¡?¡±

We come to church primarily to worship God, but we also come to make friends.
¿ì¸®´Â ¿ì¼±ÀûÀ¸·Î Çϳª´Ô²² °æ¹è µå¸®±â À§ÇÏ¿© ±³È¸¿¡ ¿É´Ï´Ù. ±×·¯³ª »ç¶÷°ú ±³Á¦ Çϱâ À§Çؼ­µµ ¿Â´Ù´Â °ÍÀÌ´Ù.
The official name of the Quaker Church is ¡°The Religious Society of Friends.¡±
ÄùÀÌÄ¿±³È¸ÀÇ °ø½Ä ¸íĪÀº ¡°Á¾±³ÀûÀΠ챏(ÇÁ·»µå)ȸ¡±ÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
In truth, that is what every church should be—a community of friends.
»ç½Ç ¸ðµç ±³È¸´Â Ä£±¸(¿ìÁ¤)ÀÇ °øµ¿Ã¼ÀÓ¿¡ Ʋ¸²ÀÌ ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù.
No matter how beautiful a church building is it cannot be the house of God if it is not also a house of fellowship.
¾Æ¹«¸® ±³È¸ÀÇ °Ç¹°ÀÌ ¾Æ¸§´ä´Ù¼Õ Ä¡´õ¶óµµ, ±×°÷¿¡ ¿ìÁ¤ÀÌ ¾ø´Ù¸é Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ÁýÀÌ µÉ ¼ö°¡ ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù.
Third and finally, in order to be the house of God, a church must also be a house of PEACE. We are not only called to be in right relationship with ourselves, but we are also called to be in right relationship with other people, other nations, and other cultures.
¼¼ ¹øÂ°, ¸¶Áö¸·À¸·Î, Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ¼ºÀüÀÌ µÇ±â À§Çؼ­´Â, ±³È¸´Â ÆòÈ­ÀÇ Àå¼Ò°¡ µÇ¾î¾ß ÇÕ´Ï´Ù. ¿ì¸®´Â ¿ì¸®³¢¸® ¿Ã¹Ù¸¥ °ü°è¸¦ ÀÌ·çµµ·Ï ¸í·É ¹Þ¾ÒÀ¸¸ç, ´Ù¸¥ »ç¶÷µé°ú, ´Ù¸¥ ³ª¶óµé°ú, ´Ù¸¥ ¹®È­³ª ¹®¸í¿¡°Ôµµ ¿Ã¹Ù¸¥ °ü°è¸¦ °¡Áöµµ·Ï ¸í·É ¹Þ¾Ò½À´Ï´Ù.
We live in a world that is both broken and divided.
¿ì¸®´Â Áö±Ý ±ú¾îÁö°í Âõ°ÜÁø ¼¼°è¿¡ »ì°í ÀÖ½À´Ï´Ù.
Our task is to reconcile the world to God by preaching peace to ¡°those who are near and to those who are far off¡± (Isaiah 57:19).
¿ì¸®°¡ ÇØ¾ß ÇÒ ÀÏÀº ¡°³»°¡ ¸Õ °÷°ú °¡±î¿î °÷¿¡ »ç´Â »ç¶÷¿¡°Ô ÁøÁ¤ÇÑ ÆòÈ­¸¦ ÁÖ°Ú´Ù¡± ¶ó´Â ¸»¾¸ ó·³ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ À̼¼»óÀ» ÆòÈ­·Î¼­ È­ÇØÇÏ´Â °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.

This is not to deny that the use of force is sometimes necessary.
ÆòÈ­¸¦ À§Çؼ­´Â ¶§·Î´Â ÈûÀ» »ç¿ëÇÏ´Â °ÍÀÌ ÇÊ¿äÇÏ´Ù´Â °Í¿¡ ºÎÀÎÇÏÁö´Â ¾Ê½À´Ï´Ù.
It is only meant to remind us that for followers of Jesus Christ peace is always the preferred option and the goal toward which we are always striving.
¿¹¼ö±×¸®½ºµµ¸¦ µû¸£´Â »ç¶÷µéÀ» À§Çؼ­, ÆòÈ­´Â Ç×»ó ¿ì¼±ÇØ¾ß ÇÒ ¼±ÅÃÀ̰í ÀÌ·ç¾î ³ª¾Æ°¡¾ß ÇÒ ¸ñÇ¥¶ó´Â °ÍÀ» ±â¾ïÇϽʽÿä
In the kind of world in which we live peace can sometimes seem a weary way off.
¿ì¸®°¡ »ì¾Æ°¡´Âµ¥ À־, ÆòÈ­¶ó´Â À̸» Àº ¶§·Î´Â ¿ì¸®¸¦ ÇǰïÇϰí Â¥Áõ³ª°ÔÇÏ´Â °Íó·³ º¸À̱⵵ ÇÏÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
The prophet Jeremiah surely spoke a word for our age when he said, ¡°We looked for peace, but no peace came¡± (Jeremiah 8:15).
¿¹·Ê¹Ì¾ß ¼±ÁöÀÚ´Â ¡°¿ì¸®°¡ ÆòÈ­¸¦ ¹Ù¶úÀ¸³ª ÁÁÀº °ÍÀº Çϳªµµ ¿ÀÁö ¾Ê¾Ò´Ù.¡± ¶ó°í ¹é¼ºµé¿¡°Ô ¸»Çß½À´Ï´Ù.
But to give up on peace is to give up on God.
±×·¯³ª ÆòÈ­¸¦ Æ÷±âÇÏ´Â °ÍÀº Çϳª´ÔÀ» Æ÷±âÇÏ´Â °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
God¡¯s will for humankind is peace.
¿ì¸® Àΰ£µéÀ» À§ÇÑ Çϳª´ÔÀÇ ÀÇÁö´Â ÆòÈ­ÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
The problem with the church is not that we haven¡¯t made peace our goal, but that we have not made it our business.
±³È¸¸¶´Ù ¹®Á¦Á¡Àº ÆòÈ­¸¦ ¿ì¸®ÀÇ ¸ñÇ¥·Î ¸¸µå´Â °Í¿¡ ÀÖ´Â °ÍÀÌ ¾Æ´Ï¶ó. ÆòÈ­¸¦ ¿ì¸®ÀÇ(¿ì¸®°¡ Áö¼ÓÀûÀ¸·Î ÃßÁøÇØ¾ß ÇÏ´Â) »ç¾÷À¸·Î ÇÏÁö ¾Ê´Â ´Ù´Â °ÍÀÔ´Ï´Ù.
A little girl in our church school recently said to me, ¡°If I could have three wishes, world peace would be all three.¡±
ÃÖ±Ù¿¡ ¿ì¸®±³È¸¿¡ ÇÑ ¼Ò³à°¡ ³ª¿¡°Ô , ¡±¸¸ÀÏ ³»°¡ ¼¼°¡Áö ¼Ò¿øÀÌ ÀÖ´Ù¸é, ¼¼°³°¡ ¸ðµÎ ¼¼°èÀÇ ÆòÈ­ÀÔ´Ï´Ù.¡±¶ó°í ¸»Çß½À´Ï´Ù.
Unfortunately, we can¡¯t just wish for peace.
ºÒÇàÈ÷µµ, ¿ì¸®´Â ÆòÈ­¿¡´ëÇÑ ¼Ò¸ÁÀ» °¡Áú ¼ö°¡ ¾ø½À´Ï´Ù.
On the contrary, we have to fight for it, work for it, and demand it from our governments as if peace were God¡¯s most cherished hope for humanity, which indeed it is.
±×·¯³ª (ÆòÈ­¿¡ ´ëÇѼҸÁÀ» °¡Á®¾ßÇϸç) , ¸¶Ä¡ ÆòÈ­´Â Çϳª´ÔÀÇ °¡Àå ¼ÒÁßÇÑ Èñ¸ÁÀÌ°í ±×°ÍÀ» Àΰ£¿¡°Ô ÁøÁ¤À¸·Î º£Ç®¾î ÁֽŠ°Í ó·³, ¿ì¸®´Â ÆòÈ­¸¦ À§ÇØ ½Î¿ö¾ß¸¸ Çϰí, Á¤ºÎ·ÎºÎÅÍ ±×°ÍÀ» ¿ä±¸Çؾ߸¸ ÇÕ´Ï´Ù.
No church, however beautiful it may be, has the right to call itself the house of God, unless it is also committed to being a house of peace.
