Sacred Journey

Background: I am a 17 year old girl living in West Hartford ct; I attend Conard High School as a senior. Next year I plan on attending Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, however I have no clue what I want to study. A little bit about myself I am easy-going person who tries to enjoy the most out of life; I can be the class clown or the sensitive person: depends on the day. The biggest thing I feel ya’ll should know about me is that I am huge on the concept of respect: give it to receive it. I am this way due to my past and influence at a young age. I learned that I have to make the most out of each day that G-d gives me. My favorite food is soup, my favorite color is blue and my favorite animal is the dolphin: “oh” and if I could have any super power in the world it would be to fly. I am game for mostly anything as long as it is not illegal or does not hurt anyone’s feelings: I like to have fun.
Church: I attend the United Church of Christ in Windsor. I use to live in Windsor then my family moved to West Hartford and the community and family support was so strong my family couldn’t leave, so we stayed. Church is not only about G-d but also about the community or family (if you will) of the church; we couldn’t leave our family behind.
Sports, Interests, Hobbies: I have a passion for writing poetry to express my emotions that I cannot really release in other ways. I love nature so I tend to bike and hike a lot on the weekends; I just got into running. Also, I like to take my car and drive around aimlessly during the night and during the day I like to get lost on my bike in the woods. I am second degree black belt in shalion kempo karate, so if I bust out in karate moves ya’ll will know why. I love listening to music, some of my favorite genres are pop and country, I do like to sing, however I can guarantee I am not the best singer. To me sleeping and TV viewing are a sport I tend to excel at. My favorite sports team the conard Chieftains (school team), the Boston Red Sox, the Mets and the Patriots. On a side note, I like politics and history they are my favorite subjects; one of my beliefs is that I can learn anything from anyone (child or adult) if I let myself be captivated. The last thing I can think off is that I am very passionate about my faith in G-d and J-s-s Christ.
My reasons for going on the trip: I love meeting new people and according my karate instructor and friends I am very good at it. I like to talk sometimes too much: I am a talkative person but the key is to listen which I do very well as well. However, like I said earlier I like to learn and enjoying learning about people’s life experiences’ so I would say that is my main reason I would like to go. However, there are other reasons’ as well such as I want to travel the world and see the beauty of g-d’s creation and this trip provides that opportunity. I have a lot to think about college wise and life wise with my friends so this trip on a personal side will give me a chance to clear my head and make my own decisions without the persuasion and interference of drama and family. Another reason is it gives me a chance of independence from my parents something I truly enjoy it gives my parents a taste of what it will be like when I go to college; gives us both a chance to let go of the strings if you know what I mean.
